A couple of days prior to this week's edition in Düsseldorf, the GDS trade show introduced a digital marketplace for brands exhibiting at the fair. The “GDS 365” website is being launched in cooperation with a Berlin-based B2B platform for shoes and accessories, We Want Shoes, which offers an interactive platform for orders, communications and networking. With the help of the “digital showroom” software provided by We Want Shoes, the GDS wants to give its exhibitors an all-year-round visibility for brand building and for attracting new customers. The GDS had already tried to launch a similar internet platform several years ago. The Panorama fashion fair in Berlin took a similar initiative a few weeks ago. Other trade show organizers like the Ispo sporting goods fair in Munich have been trying to widen the scope of their services, offering them online throughout the year.
