A German court has ruled in favor of K-Swiss in its seven-year legal battle with Künzli over the five-stripe design on their shoes. Künzli has been using the design for more than 50 years and shared it with K-Swiss when it helped set up the new company in 1966. However, Künzli never registered the trademark; K-Swiss did, in 1974. Therefore, K-Swiss now has the exclusive right to the five stripes. Künzli's new logo consists of red blocks that form the outline for the Swiss flag.
