A potential “laceration hazard” has prompted Nine West Footwear to recall about 6,700 pairs of Sam & Libby branded girls’ sandals. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with the company, declared that the metal tacks holding the side of the strap to the sole of these thong sandals can come off easily. There have not yet been any reports of injuries from the Chinese-made sandals, which were sold from March to April this year at Stride Rite, Brothers, Century 21 and Marshalls stores throughout the USA.
