A South African fashion retailer, Truworths, has confirmed that it is discussing the possible acquisition of Office, the 150-store shoe retail chain based in the U.K. It did not confirm media speculation about a possible purchase price of around £300 million (€400.6m-$456.6m), double the valuation reportedly given to Office when Silverfleet Capital took it over from West Coast Capital five years ago. Truworths, which is said to be worth £1.7 billion (€2.3bn-$2.6bn), operates stores in its home market as well as in Botswana, Ghana and Nigeria.
