About 300 delegates – one-third of them from outside Italy – attended the World Footwear Congress in Naples' historic Royal Palace from April 3 to 5. Thomas Bata Jr., chief vision officer of the Bata Group, was among the foreign participants, who came also from other parts of Europe, China, Korea, Canada, the U.S., Russia and South America. Aside from high-level personalities like Alberto Bonisoli, Italy's Minister of Heritage and Cultural Activities, and Vincenzo Boccia, president of Confidustria, 35 speakers participated in the convention, partly through round-table discussions. Digitalization and sustainability were the main topics. The keynote speaker, Dietmar Dahmen, a professional speaker and consultant on disruptive transformation strategies, made two captivating presentations at the beginning and at the end of the event.
