According to a recent study by the Federal Association of E-Commerce and Mail Order Germany (BEVH), online footwear sales in the German market amounted to €1.02 billion in the third quarter of 2019, growing by 7 percent from the same period of the previous year. Meanwhile, online sales of apparel and footwear combined increased by 16.6 percent to 4.97 billion, and online trade in Germany, as stated by the BEVH, increased by 12.3 percent. Cumulatively since the beginning of the year, online sales increased by 11.6 percent as compared with the first nine months of 2018. Pure online retailers increased their sales by 20 percent to €2.7 billion in the third quarter of this year.
