According to Textilwirtschaft, Buffalo – the German footwear brand acquired by Deichmann in October 2016 – will now be focusing exclusively on its wholesale and e-commerce business and has recently closed down its mono-brand stores in Düsseldorf, Cologne and Berlin. The company has also decided to halve its collections of the Buffalo and Buffalo London brands, which respectively have 250 and 190 styles per season. The product line will be subdivided into four segments: sneakers, high heels, urban and basic. The German-based footwear brand aims to expand its licensing business and is currently in negotiations with potential partners for eyewear, accessories, jewelry and perfumes. Buffalo also plans to launch its first fashion collection. A capsule collection of sporty streetwear styles, developed in cooperation with a partner, will be presented in December and go on sale in July 2020. Swim and beachwear produced by Otto is already on sale through Otto's online store.
