After opening its first Shoe Woo concept store in a mall in New Jersey, Jones Apparel Group has just opened another one in Union Station in Washington, D.C. Next up is a New York flagship planned to open at 59th Street and Lexington Avenue in September, according to Footwear News. The Manhattan store will have a heavier concentration of higher-end brands such as Enzo Angiolini, Joan & David and Boutique 9; it is being constructed at the site of a former Nine West store and will feature a raised selling space called the Attic, which is being designed to resemble a house’s attic, complete with antique furniture and unfinished walls. The Shoe Woo concept sells all of Jones Apparel’s footwear brands in one venue. Sales at Shoe Woo store in the New Jersey store suffered from the recent decrease in mall visitors but the group remains optimistic about the concept.
