After the departure of Jane Wilson, its former chief executive, Start-Rite’s top spot is divided into two. David Attwood, formerly sales and marketing director, and Peter Lamble, formerly executive chairman, are sharing Wilson’s previous responsibilities. Attwood is in charge of sales, marketing, merchandising and new business, while Lamble heads up internal operations like information technology and human resources. In addition to these changes, the British children’s footwear company has created the position of product director, appointing Susan O’Hare to this role, making her responsible for the design process. Before being named to the position, O’Hare was sales director at Sara Lee Courtaulds. Wilson has left Start-Rite to become international children’s footwear director at Clarks, replacing Gemma Treglia. Reportedly, Treglia has become buying director for women’s footwear. That position was formerly filled by Alison Broadhurst, who in turn left earlier this year to become brand director for Shop Direct’s Choice catalogue.
