Alpargatas, a Brazilian footwear manufacturer, will add 1,600 employees to its workforce following a 12,500-square-meter expansion of its production facilities. The construction will be finished in September 2006, allowing the company to increase its shoe production, which is currently at 130,000 pairs per month.
