An Italian investment fund, Fondo Italiano di Investimento (FII) is acquiring a stake in Zeis Exelsa. Its size could not be determined, but reports indicate that FII will invest €20 million to boost Zeis' retail activities and to expand the range of shoes sold under the name of Dirk Bikkemberg, particularly in the women's and children's sectors. Zeis, which previously had a license for Bikkemberg men's shoes, acquired all the rights to the brand last July. Besides its own shoe brands – Docksteps, Cult and Virtus Palestre – Zeis has a license for Samsonite footwear and licenses the Merrell, Harley-Davidson and Sebago brands for the Italian market. The group's total revenues will reportedly reach more than €140 million this year.
