Analysts started to notice the first price increases in the Swedish shoe retail sector toward the end of last year. Sales of footwear in Sweden dropped by 4.1 percent in October compared to the same period the previous year, according to HUI Research. They fared slightly better in November, but still ended at a loss of 1.7 percent when compared to November 2014, although the total retail trade in the country showed a 7 percent increase in the same month. The mild autumn weather was not good for the footwear sector in Sweden and other Nordic countries.
