Ara opened two shops-in-shops in Beijing department stores at the beginning of September as part of a new strategy to enter the Chinese market. The German company, which has an importer in Beijing, is now looking to open in other key Chinese cities, such as Shanghai and Guangzhou, and has also identified opportunities in Southeast Asia. Ara has earmarked Singapore as one such Southeast Asian market, and is seeking an importer in the nation-state. The company has around 390 stores worldwide.
