As expected, Cleto Sagripanti was elected yesterday as the new president of the European Confederation of the Footwear Industry (CEC). The vote in favor of the 44-year-old Italian entrepreneur was unanimous. Sagripanti is the former chief executive of Manas who has headed up Assocalzaturifici, the power Italian shoe industry association, for the past four years. His successor in that post will be elected on June 9. At CEC, Sagripanti takes the place of Jean-Pierre Renaudin, who has agreed to remain president of the French Shoe Industry Federation (FCC) for one more year.
