As previously reported, Geox and Fratelli Rossetti will make a comeback at the next GDS fair in Düsseldorf, scheduled for Sept. 7-9, but they will not be the only newcomers. Alviero Martini, Callaghan, D'Acquasparta, Farrutx, Flip Flop, Heschung, John Varvatos, Lumberjack, Salamander and United Nude will also exhibit for the first time or return to the show after several seasons of absence. Newcomers will include a Portuguese designer, Miguel Vieira, Cristófoli of Brazil and the new shoe collection of Desigual, Gas and Wenger, among others. The organizers of the fair attribute this in part to the altered segmentation of the halls, focusing on eleven different themes. The show's earlier dates may also have been a factor. In tune with the summer season, the fashion shows will now be held for the first time in the outdoor area between Halls 3 and 6. In addition to the GDS, which will host some 840 exhibitors, the simultaneous Global Shoes fair will showcase some 440 exhibitors in Halls 8a and 8b.
