Ash, the Italian brand controlled by Highline United Europe, is launching its first ready-to-wear collection for spring/summer 2015 under the name “Ash Studio Paris.” The collection, which was designed together with the New York fashion designer Kevork Kiledjian, is for women and offers about 90 pieces, including trouser suits, skirts, dresses, trousers, blouses and shirts.
Highline United launched its ready-to-wear collection at the Premium show held in Berlin on July 8-10. The company will also present the collection with a fashion show during the GDS fair in Düsseldorf from July 30 to Aug. 1. It will be sold in Germany, Austria and Switzerland as well as in Asia and in the U.S. through selected fashion stores, department stores as well as fashion boutiques.
Meanwhile, Rick Paterno resigned as president and chief executive of Highline United, based in New York, last June 6. The former top executive of Clarks and The Jones Group justified the move with his desire to be closer to his family.
In Europe, Marcel Melzer, previously the sales director for Central, Southern and Eastern Europe for the Australian brand EMU, joined Highline United on July 1, assuming the newly-created position of sales manager for Germany, Austria and Switzerland. He will be responsible for all the brands owned and marketed by Highline United, including Ash, French Connection, Julian Hakes, Elie Tahari and Luxury Rebel.
Melzer will be based in Munich and will report directly to Stephan Krug, who replaced Marcus Meyer as president and chief executive of Highline United last February.
