A new trade show for Asian shoe producers will take place in Milan at the same time as Expo Riva Schuh in Riva del Garda on June 15-18, more or less coinciding with the menswear shows in Milan, which will run from June 15 to 18. Called Misaf for Milan Shoe & Accessories Fair, it will be organized by Plum Solutions with the support of the Chinese Chamber of Commerce, hosting initially between 100 and 150 exhibitors.

Assocalzaturifici, which organizes Micam at later dates, had no comment on the initiative. For its part, Expo Riva Schuh said it is working toward an increasingly accurate selection of the product ranges displayed at its fair. More than 500 Chinese companies participate in the well-established Expo Riva Schuh show on Lake Garda twice a year, attracting buyers from all over the world, and some of them may decide to try out the new event in Milan, liberating some space at its main fairgrounds.

Last year, Expo Riva Schuh launched a new trade show for handbags, Gardabags, in another area of the same town. Going forward, Expo Riva Schuh and Gardabags will take place in the same area, following the long-awaited acquisition of more than 3,000 square meters of real estate next to the main exhibition area. As before, companies will be invited to make use of hotels for more suitable one-to-one meetings.
