Asos, the British online fashion retailer, had a huge 47 percent increase in sales for the first half ended Sept. 30. Revenues rose by 33 percent in the home U.K. market and by 112 percent elsewhere. International sales now make up 25 percent of its total. Profit before tax was up by 8.6 percent to £4.4 million (CONVERSION). It had 1.2 million active customers at the end of October, 32 percent more than the same time in 2008. Asos also said that sales in the first seven weeks of the second half, through Nov. 15, were up by 46 percent compared with last year.
