Assomac, the trade organization for the Italian tanning and footwear machinery sector, has signed an agreement with Tunisia's National Leather and Footwear Centre (CNCC) to strengthen the commercial and knowledge connections between industry representatives of the two countries. Under the terms of the agreement, Assomac will supply expertise as well as machinery and technical assistance to producers in Tunisia. Representatives from Assomac took part in a seminar in Tunis, at the end of September, where they signed the new agreement. Italy's partnership with the Tunisian leather and footwear sector is already well established, with 60 Italian manufacturers already active in the North African country and export revenues of around $200 million per year.
