Attendance grew enormously at Le Cuir, the French leather show, following its decision to join Première Vision, Mod’Amont and other textile, fibers and graphic design fairs held simultaneously in Paris to cater to the upstream segment of the supply chain. The number of visitors at Le Cuir reached 12,116, up from 3,500 when the show was taking place all of its own, but only a few were from the footwear sector. Only 15 percent came over just for this fair, and 60 percent of them were not French. The show hosted 256 exhibitors, 60 of which were new. Out of the total, 41 percent were Italian, 26 percent French and 14 percent Spanish.
