Bata Europe is planning to launch a new commercial format based on the notion of fast fashion. In an interview with MFfashion, Claudio Alessi, president of Bata Europe, said that the company will be launching new models of shoes for men and women every Friday, which will add to the seasonal main collection. The new models will be delivered every Friday to the 5,300 stores around the world of the Czech footwear brand, Alessi said. The brand is currently celebrating its 125th anniversary. Bata posted a 5 percent sales increase on a comparable store basis in the first quarter of 2019. The company plans to open 36 new stores in Europe this year.
