Belle International Holdings, the big Chinese footwear retailer that recently went public, has agreed to buy the Fila trademarks for mainland China for US$48 million and Fila’s wholesale business in Hong Kong for an additional $1.1 million. Belle is also finalizing the purchase of HK Retail Co., which has been running Fila’s retail business in Hong Kong. Fila Luxembourg will continue to be financially involved as minority partner in a 15:85 joint venture with Belle, called Full Prospect, to distribute Fila products in China, Hong Kong and Macau.
