Big changes are taking place in the management of Esprit, which will reportedly have a classical executive board. Thomas Grote, who has been brand president since 2006, is set to leave the group at the end of June. Meanwhile the company has appointed a global marketing director and a president of the Americas, who should be part of this new board. The marketing role will be filled by Jan Erik van Dijk, who has already managed the repositioning of C&A. John Gunn previously worked for IC Companys and Tommy Hilfiger in North America. Another new member of the board should be Lars Soerensen, who was named chief operating officer last fall. These changes are all following the return last October of Heinz Krogner, 67-year-old chairman of Esprit’s holding company, in a more active role.
