Birkenstock Mexico closed 2018 with sales up by 30 percent from the previous year and expects a further increase of 40 percent by the end of the current year. Pablo Rozada, the division's head of sales, revealed the figures recently in an interview with FashionNetwork.com. Established 15 years ago, the Mexican subsidiary of Birkenstock is opening three more stores this year, two of which are already in operation. The final one will be opening in July or August, bringing the company's national total to 13. Elsewhere in Latin America, Birkenstock will be opening a third Brazilian store late in the year and is eyeing the markets of Argentina and Chile.
