Blake W. Krueger, chairman, chief executive and president at Wolverine World Wide, has been elected to be the new chairman of the Footwear Distributors and Retailers of America (FDRA). He succeeds Matt Rubel, chairman and president of Collective Brands. Krueger has been with Wolverine for more than 17 years, holding the chairmanship since January 2010 and the other two positions since April 2007. The FDRA accounts for about 80 percent of all footwear sales in the U.S., and its services include lobbying and advocacy for industry c auses, educational programs and trade publications. Separately, the group has announced the top performing retail companies of 2010. The Clarks Companies N.A. Retail was honored as full service top performer, and Kmart was chosen in the self-select category. Every week, the FDRA compiles its Confidential Comparable Store Sales Survey, representing 13,534 stores nationwide and more than a dozen companies. The annual honorees are selected from among them.
