Boa Technology, maker of the Boa Closure System for footwear that started in 2001 with snowboard boots, has been ranked the No. 3 top small workplace by The Denver Post. The newspaper looks at local companies' appreciation of workers, direction, values, ethics, career advancement opportunities, pay and benefits. “Small workplaces” have fewer than 150 employees. Members of the business community nominated companies for the award, and the Post evaluates them based on 24-question surveys of the employees. Some of Boa's perks include fitness and nutrition workshops, company outdoor and volunteer activities, and profit-sharing, among others. Last year Boa was in fourth place on Outside magazine's list of top 50 places to work. The Denver Post also named Mark Soderberg, Boa president, top business leader.
