Taryn Rose International has named Robert Meers to be its new chief executive. He was previously the CEO of Lululemon Athletica, the big American maker and retailer yoga-inspired sports apparel, which he led through its initial public offering in 2007, expanding it considerably. His past experience also includes being president of the Reebok brand.
Meers’ wife, Dr. Miriam Kelly, a clinical psychologist, will work with Taryn Rose’s human resources, training and recruiting departments, and says she will bring a woman’s touch to product development and marketing. He replaces the founder of the American footwear company, Dr. Taryn Rose, also an orthopedic surgeon. Andrew Forbes had briefly held the top post since last March.
Meers and his wife are taking a financial stake in the company. They issued a statement indicating that they expect Taryn Rose to grow significantly, especially outside the USA.
