Bonvita Footwear has opened an office for the distribution of Bundgaard in Germany, which will also service the Benelux countries. Bonvita, a Danish company that acted mainly as a distributor, took over Bundgaard and two other brands in two stages from Sanita Footwear, working initially through a company called Nordic Footwear. Bundgaard's sales have more than doubled since then, partly because of a repositioning of the brand and a shift in the production from the Far East to Portugal. Bonvita has added extra talent to improve and expand the Bundgaard brand of comfort children's shoes for the autumn/winter 20917/18 collection, which will be shown at the GDS in Düsseldorf, Supremo in Munich, Kindermode in Hamburg, CIFF Kids in Copenhagen and other fairs in Oslo and Stockholm. The new German subsidiary will be headed up initially by Ulrik Schultz, a partner in Bonvita and the company's chief executive. He is looking to hire a country manager in the first quarter of this year, and to set up a network of agents.
