Brax, a successful German fashion brand that originally specialized in pants, is expected to continue its diversification into footwear and other products following the appointment of Ulrich Bauer to head up its licensing business. Hauer, 54, was formerly a shareholder and the managing director of Ulihauer Pluslinks, a German company that licensed Cinque shoes and leather accessories. Prior to that, between 1995 and 2002, he was a managing partner in MH Shoes & Accessories, the company run by Wilhelm Moehlmann that launched and sold Hugo Boss footwear at the time. Before that, he was president of Esprit's shoe division. Brax' sales have been rising steadily in the last years, reaching a level of €271 million in 2010.
