Britain’s Shoe Studio Group, which is considering a public offering next Spring, has opened its first concessions in Denmark in two department stores in Copenhagen and Lyngby of Magasin du Nord, the Danish retailer controlled by Baugur of Iceland. The group’s foreign expansion follows the opening earlier this year of an even large space in Ilum, another big Danish department store, as well as a store in the Kirnglan shopping center of Rykjavik, the capital of Iceland. Baugur has an 8 percent shareholding in Rubicon, which acquired a substantial stake in Shoe Studio Group a few months ago. Jon Asegir Johannesson, CEO of Baugur, is under investigation in Iceland on charges of fraud, embezzlement, breach of trust and infringingthe Iceland Companies Act.
