Caprice is celebrating the opening of its technological park in Lahore, Pakistan, where the company invested €1 million in the construction of a development and quality assurance center. With the new technological park, this subsidiary of the Wortmann Group aims to assure and control its local supply chain on its own. Specialists of the Pakistani shoe manufacturer together with product managers from the German head office certify all essential raw materials before they are used for production. About 5,000 pairs of shoes per day are manufactured for Caprice in Lahore. Caprice claims to be the biggest foreign client of the Pakistani shoe industry. It has been working together with its Pakistani partners for 10 years. The technicians in Pakistan are in constant contact with colleagues in Germany by means of a modern video conference system. Next to Pakistan, Caprice also works with production partners in Indonesia, China, Vietnam and Cambodia.
