Cole Haan has opened its first global flagship store based on a new design in the Ginza district of Tokyo. In addition to a normal collection of shoes for men and women, it also offers some unique styles and the brand's new line of handbags on a total space of 200 square meters as part of a program to build up Cole Haan into a lifestyle brand following its recent takeover by Apax Partners and the appointment of a new chief executive, Jack Boys, who comes from Converse. As of next year, Cole Haan wants to open about 100 stores every year around the world, moving also into South Korea, China and other parts of Asia. There are currently 110 full-price and off-price Cole Haan stores in North America and 13 elsewhere.
