Tacco Footcare, a German shoe-care producer, announced on its Facebook page that it has been acquired by the Belgian insole producer Débé, which in turn is owned by Alma FRC Group, a French manufacturer of shoe care and shoe accessory products.

Tacco will be included in a portfolio that comprises brands such as Saphir, Saphir Médaille D’Or, Tarrago Brands, Dasco, Débé, Waproo, and La Cordonnerie Anglaise.

With the takeover, Tacco’s insoles will be produced in Antwerp.

Tacco filed for bankruptcy due to insolvency and over-indebtedness on April 8 and proceedings were opened on June 23 by the district court of Bielefeld, where the company is based.

The company was founded by Dorchen and Ingo Pietsch in 1962 as a producer of accessories for shoes. Its organic products were sold in more than 60 countries.

Lately, Tacco underwent a few difficult years. In February 2019, it had been bought by the Polish firm Kaps.
