Beaumanoir, a French fashion group which bought a large part of the assets of La Halle, a French apparel and shoe retailer, is in exclusive talks to buy the women’s apparel brand Caroll from Vivarte. If the deal obtains regulatory clearance, it is scheduled to close in the third quarter of 2021.
Caroll has 470 stores and posted sales of €172 million in the full year ended on Aug. 31, 2020.
In June 2021, Beaumanoir had more than 1,800 stores, including nearly 450 shops under the Cache Cache banner, 340 Bréal stores, 410 Bonobo stores, more than 300 Morgan locations and 336 La Halle stores.
Beaumanoir acquired the La Halle shops from Vivarte. La Halle was placed into a safeguard procedure on April 21, 2020, to protect it from creditors. On July 8, 2020, a Paris-based court selected Beaumanoir to take over a large part of its assets. In March 2021, the French antitrust agency, Autorité de la Concurrence, authorized without conditions the purchase of the stores by Beaumanoir.
