Tacco Footcare, a German shoe-care producer that had been bought by the Polish firm Kaps in February 2019, is bankrupt again. Tacco Footcare filed for bankruptcy due to insolvency and over-indebtedness on April 8 and proceedings were opened on June 23 by the district court of Bielefeld, where the company is based. Axel Geese was appointed administrator.
Tacco Footcare was founded by Dorchen and Ingo Pietsch in 1962 as a producer of accessories for shoes. Its organic products were sold in more than 60 countries. After recovering from insolvency in 2012, Tacco became a subsidiary of Deutsche Mittelstandsholding. Wolf-Rüdiger Pietsch exited its executive board in 2016. Three years later, Tacco Footcare was acquired Kaps, also a producer of shoe-care products which wanted to expand its portfolio of brands.
