Creating an interesting new position after disappointing results, Asos has appointed a “chief growth officer,” responsible for driving profitable growth and integrating marketing efforts with strategic planning, analytics and customer experience. The new role, which became effective on Dec. 3, has been assigned to Robert Birge. He will report directly to the British e-tailer's chief executive, Nick Beighton, overseeing marketing and customer care. The 49-year-old manager previously held senior marketing positions at a travel search site, Kayak, and at IMG.
