The British luxury goods group Burberry has pledged to become climate positive by 2040, 10 years ahead of targets set out in the Paris Agreement, thanks to a series of commitments including cutting emissions across its extended supply chain by 46 percent by 2030, compared with a previous target of 30 percent.

The company said it was on track to meet its target to become carbon neutral across its own footprint by 2022, which it is achieving by reducing emissions, improving energy efficiency and switching to renewable electricity sources, before balancing any remaining emissions.

Burberry also announced its support for the Fashion Avengers, a coalition of global fashion organizations that have come together to inspire action towards achieving the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals.
