LVMH, the luxury giant controlled by Bernard Arnault, is donating 261 ventilators to French hospitals to help fight the coronavirus pandemic. Twenty of these devices have already been delivered to hospitals, according to Bloomberg. LVMH has also reopened 12 of its 16 Louis Vuitton handbag factories to sew non-surgical face masks, calling back around 10 percent of its workforce. Furthermore, the group has announced that it has donated funds to French hospitals through a foundation presided over by Brigitte Macron, the French first lady. Earlier, LVMH had switched some of its production of fragrances in the south of France to the manufacture of sanitizing gel.
