Designer Brands’ profits surge despite lower sales at DSW

Designer Brands, the American shoe retailing group previously called DSW after its main property, bounced back in its second fiscal quarter, ended on Aug. 3, posting a net income of $27.4 million against a loss of $38.6 million for the year-ago period.
