Despite pessimistic market forecasts, Theorema Scandinavia, a Scandinavian footwear supplier based in Sweden, is setting up a subsidiary to supply new leather footwear products. The supplier considers that in bad times such as these, retailers start to look around for new suppliers and new collections. The new business, Scavanti, will even offer a house brand of sport and outdoor footwear for men, women and children. Hans Westerlund, a part-owner in the new company, is its chief executive officer. He worked for many years at Pax Scandinavia, part of the New Wave Group, as buyer and seller of footwear, and has taken with him two of the company’s salesmen: Eric Augustsson and Filip Hollås.
