Dolcis posted an operating loss of £4.2 million for the 10 months through the end of November, when Alexon Group sold this British shoe retail chain, compared with a loss of £0.8 million in the previous full financial year. Alexon sold Dolcis for the very low sum of £2.7 million, resulting in a loss of £10.3 million after tax on this disposal. Because of this loss and other extraordinary charges, Alexon suffered a net loss of £25.6 million in the financial year ended last Jan. 27. The operating profit from continuing operations declined to £11.8 million on sales of £325.8 million.
