British fashion e-tailer Asos is stopping commissions on its marketplace platform to help businesses during the second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic and related lockdown as they face the busy Christmas period.

New and existing sellers will pay no commission until the end of the year, Asos said. The move follows support measures announced in April, including freezing rents across the platform.

The marketplace is home to more than 1,200 brands selling goods.

“We recognise that the impact of Covid-19 will continue for some time and we are committed to continuing to support our boutique partners as they adapt and evolve their operations into peak trading,” said marketplace head Jo Hunt.

In keeping with the shift to online shopping experienced during the first U.K. lockdown in March, Asos has witnessed strong sales, brand and traffic growth.
