To mark its tenth anniversary, the Berlin-based footwear company Shoepassion released a special edition collection that is only available on the crowdfunding platform, Kickstarter.

A revised edition of the first collection released in 2010, the limited anniversary collection features seven models that will be on sale until Dec. 6, St. Nicholas Day. Delivery is planned for April 2021.

In addition to minor design changes, the collection boasts a leather upper, otherwise only used for the luxury shoe brand Heinrich Dinkelacker, which has been part of Shoepassion since late 2016. The Kickstarter channel was successfully tested by the company last year.

The international platform also enables connection with customers in various parts of the world that cannot have be reached through the company’s own retail channels. At the same time, the channel has proven to be cost-effective, as it means only the shoes that customers have actually ordered are manufactured.

Established as an online company in February 2010, in the Berlin area of Prenzlauer Berg, Shoepassion specializes in welted men’s shoes. The company opened its first store in early 2013.

Approximately half of sales are generated online, as the company now operates ten stores, eight in Germany’s largest cities and one in Vienna, all under the Shoepassion name, as well as a Heinrich Dinkelacker store in Bietigheim-Bissingen, in the Baden-Württemberg region.

This year, the company introduced the digital foot measurement tool Shoepassion ID and the new Berlin N91 lifestyle brand. In addition, Shoepassion included for the first time third-party products. Since the beginning of October, the company offers online the shoes of the Spanish design brand Pertini.
