Dune’s footwear can now be bought from homes in the UK and Ireland with a few clicks of the mouse, and the same will soon be true for another more up-market British shoe retailer, Kurt Geiger. Dune’s first transactional website was up and running on Oct.3, carrying 80 percent of the retailer’s product range. Its footwear can be shipped to the UK with a standard delivery schedule of 4-6 days for £5, or in one business day for £7.50. Shipping charges for to the Republic of Ireland are £12.50 for delivery within 4-6 days.

Consumers should be able to purchase footwear on line from Kurt Geiger by the end of this month. The company said in a press release that its website will be the equivalent to a 5,000-square-foot flagship store. Kurt Geiger’s own labels and others like Chloë, Missoni, Dries Van Noten, Ralph Lauren and Belstaff will be available on the site. Shipping will initially be just in the UK, and will cost £5 for 3-5-day delivery and £6 for next-day delivery.

According to Drapers Record, a recent survey by Barclaycard Business showed that 80 percent of British consumers who visit a retailer’s website expect now to be able to order and pay for the merchandise online, while just 16 percent would go to the actual store to purchase a product that they had originally seen on the internet.
