Emma Hope, which had probably the best possible position of any luxury brand at the redesigned GDS show in Düsseldorf last September, has hired a new agent for the German market. He is Peter Coggis, who already represents John Lobb in the country. Emma Hope, whose very expensive women’s shoes generate annual sales of about €4 million, set up a franchised store in Tokyo last year and is now looking for a store site in New York City. The brand has added a small line of sports-inspired shoes for men and women to its Spring/Summer 2005 collection, retailing for between £100 a pair. It’s participating together with about 15 other British fashion designers in a special British fashion exhibition sponsored by the UK Department of Trade and Industry in Moscow at the end of this month.
