Esprit Holdings has wrapped up the first nine months of the fiscal year with sales down by 2.1 percent to 27.18 billion Hong Kong dollars (€2.51bn-$3.51bn). Comparable store sales grew by 6 percent, with 6.9 percent same-store growth in Europe. Overall sales in Europe fell by 3.5 percent to HK$23.2 billion (€2.14bn-$2.99bn). Asian revenue grew by 8.5 percent, and sales in North America were up by 0.4 percent. Wholesale sales fell by 8.0 percent to HK$14.77 billion (€1.36bn-$1.91bn), while retail sales saw growth of 5.9 percent to HK$12.22 billion (€1.13bn-$1.58bn). The number of directly operated stores grew by 85 units to a total of 782 units during the nine-month period. Another 142 Esprit stores operated by partners were added to the brand’s network, reaching a total of 1,557 franchises.
