Ets René Leriche, the French maker of Erel slippers that became insolvent in July, has been sold to a new company, Erel Chaussures de France, formed through an alliance of four shareholders. The new owners, who took over the company in September, have retained the twenty employees. It will maintain production in Limoges and expects to present the new spring/summer 2017 collection in January. The new chief executive, Dominique Labrousse, has plans to introduce a new product as well as to raise the profile of the brand through marketing and social media initiatives.
