Tobias Eichmeier was appointed joint chief executive of ANWR Schuh on May 1. He will be leading the German buying group shoe retailers together with Heike Discher. Eichmeier, 44, previously worked for Globetrotter, responsible for purchasing and the development of the German outdoor retail chain’s product range. Before that, he was purchasing manager at SportScheck. At ANWR Schuh, he will be responsible for central purchasing as well as for sales. He will take care of the development of ANWR Schuh’s category management and its product range. Discher, chief executive of ANWR Schuh since October 2019, will be responsible for retail consulting and retail concepts, communication, marketing, finances and human resources. Fritz Terbuyken continues to be a member of the ANWR Group’s executive board, responsible for the shoe division of the company. Terbuyken was chief executive of ANWR Schuh from 2008. He stepped down on April 30 and will from now on be responsible for the group’s shoe division in Europe, acting as the contact person for the group’s subsidiaries outside Germany and taking care of its international key accounts. The ANWR Group aims to bring its European subsidiaries closer together in the future. Terbuyken continues to support the management of ANWR Schuh in a consulting position.
