Deckers Brands has appointed Victor Luis to its board of directors to replace James Quinn, who has yielded the seat he gained in 2011. Luis was chief executive and a board member of the former Coach from 2014 to 2019, during its transition to a new name: Tapestry. The company – which owns the Coach, Kate Spade and Stuart Weitzman brands – hired Luis in 2006 as president and CEO of Coach Japan. Luis rose to chief commercial officer in 2013 before attaining the post of overall CEO the following year. Luis was formerly president and CEO of Baccarat (2002-06), overseeing North America. Before that he was with LVMH, rising to become president and CEO of Givenchy Japan. Deckers owns the Ugg, Koolaburra, Hoka One One, Teva and Sanuk brands.
