Salvatore Ferragamo’s creative director Paul Andrew will leave the company in May to pursue other professional opportunities. The Italian luxury goods company said that the existing in-house team will be entrusted with creation and design.
“After five years, with pride and a heavy heart, I’ve decided it’s time for a new challenge. In May, I will step down as Creative Director of Ferragamo,” Andrew posted on Instagram.
There had been speculation that the company would not renew Andrew’s contract when it expired in February. Andrew joined Ferragamo in 2016 as head of women’s footwear. The following year he was also in charge of ready-to-wear. In 2019, he was promoted to creative director.
At the end of March, Ferragamo announced that Leonardo Ferragamo would replace his brother Ferruccio as chairman when a new board is elected by shareholders on April 22.
